asked: I just bought a house and it has beautiful hardwood floors under the carpet. I just remodeled the bathroom before we moved in so I don’t have a lot of money at the time. So I can redo them myself but I am wanting to wait, but the wife doesn’t, To redo them as I am burned out from redoing the bathroom. I live in central Illinois does anyone have an idea on how much it costs.

Generally about $2-$3 per square foot. Or for a buff and recoat it is about $1 per sq ft. Buff and recoating can be done yourself by just renting a floor buffer.
Basically to do this you buff the floor with a white pad and a 150 grit sanding screen on the buffer. This removes surface scratches and abrades the finish so that the new coating will bond to it. I suggest a dquare buffer if you have no experience with using a buffer.
