Is it safe to mop my laminate hardwood flooring with vinegar and water?

Trix_R_not_4_kids asked:

I know that there is a floor wax called Murphys Wax which I can use, but my cousin suggested that I use vinegar dilluted in water instead because its cheaper, and mop with a dry mop. Is it safe to do this? Will it ruin the flooring?
